These days we have entered a fascinating phase: Prehistory. The beginning of art, hunting, beliefs ... Our inception. We particularly liked the documentary " Odyssey of the kind II ." This is part of a documentary series of the same name and can be seen on-line from YouTube.

The following is a brief summary of the most important milestones in the development of mankind from Australopithecus to Homo Sapiens.
  1. Australopithecus. Australopithecus (southern ape) appear in Africa some 5,000,000 years. They differed from the other apes by having a larger brain and they had developed an anatomy that allowed them to walk upright, that is, they were bipedal. There were two different species of Australopithecus afarensis the less evolved, and anamensis, who traveled great distances and feed on carrion. Lucy, the famous fossil discovered in Ethiopia, was a Afarensis.
  2. Homo habilis. appear in Africa about 2,000,000 years. They discovered how to make stone tools with which they killed and butchered their prey, which they devoured raw.
  3. Homo erectus. Preceded by Homo ergaster, first appeared in Africa about 1,000,000 years. Learned the control of fire 500,000 years ago. It was the first hominid that left Africa to colonize the plains of Europe and China.
  4. Homo Neanderthal. Appeared in Europe about 125,000 years ago. His brain was almost as big as the anatomically modern humans were well developed. They were the first hominids to bury their dead, burials were preceded by religious ceremonies. No one knows why, went extinct 30,000 years ago.
  5. Homo sapiens. The species to which we all belong, Homo sapiens (wise man), appears in Europe around 35,000 years ago. The language, tools and made them more social nature capable than the Neanderthal. They invented the art decorating their caves with beautiful, expressive paintings of animals they hunted.
